POONCH, Dec 18: Senior superintendent of Police, Poonch Rohit Baskotra chaired a crime review meeting here last evening.
DySP hqrs Poonch, SDPO Mendhar, DySP Surankote, DySP Ops Poonch, all SHOs of district including Incharge PPs and heads of DPO branches attended the meeting. During the meeting, under investigation cases and inquest proceedings were discussed at length with the concerned supervisory officers, SHOs and I/C PPs and directions were imparted upon them for early disposal of crime.
The NDPS, UAPA and theft cases were also discussed in detail and focus was put on professional investigation in these heinous nature of cases. Territorial officers/ SHOs concerned were also directed to make all out efforts in tracing out of missing persons, apprehending absconders and keeping close vigil over activities of bad characters, history sheeters, smugglers etc.
The concerned officials were also directed to keep healthy relations with the public to gain their confidence and attend each such issue which has a bearing on law and order front.
Keeping in view the security scenario SSP Poonch also briefed the officers present over there to keep themselves in close coordination of other sister agencies and be watchful over the activities of anti- national and anti-social elements. Stressed was also given on actions against illegal mining, visible traffic violation, bovine smuggling and drug peddlers. The Territorial officers were asked to put forth points of welfare measures for jawans.
