DODA, Aug 1: SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom here today chaired a crime and security review meeting which was attended by all the supervisory officers and SHOs of the district.
A review on the present security scenario, pre-event security plan along with other security measures in connection with forthcoming Independence Day function, ongoing Yatras and other religious and official events was discussed with the supervisory officers and SHOs and they were directed to ensure foolproof security plan for the celebrations of all such events across the district.
The SSP stressed upon the officers to work on mission mode basis to achieve targets assigned by the higher authorities in the area of investigation, law and order and other fields to reduce crime pendency with special efforts in investigation in cases of NDPS, UAPA and crimes of heinous nature so that culprits involved are booked and justice is delivered to the victims.
A threadbare discussion was held on the backlog cases as well as cases registered so far during the year 2023 and the SHOs were directed to ensure maximum disposal of under investigation cases, inquest proceedings, absconders, missing persons, review of history sheeters, personal files and their entry in beat books.
The supervisory officers and SHOs were also directed to follow under trial cases in Courts vigorously to ensure conviction.
It was also emphasized upon the officers to enhance surveillance in their area of responsibility to curb the menace of drugs and bovine smuggling.
Other police working in disposal of seizure from the Court, enhancement of CCTV cameras under operation Third Eye, visit to Child Care Home under operation Pathshala, installation of signage boards under operation Bachaav, record building under operation Kitab and intensifying of patrolling under operation Milan were also discussed.
Shakeel Rehman, ASP Hqrs Doda; Vinod Kumar, Addl. SP Bhaderwah; Jaswant Singh, Dy. SP Hqrs Doda; Vaseem Mehmood, SDPO Bhaderwah and Adil Hussain, SDPO Gandoh were among other officers present in the meeting.
