SAMBA, June 15: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate heroin smuggling and firing case of border village Rangoor Camp in which three hardcore heroin smugglers of Punjab were arrested by Police and heroin valuing rupees 14 crore approximately, pistol, ammunition, Rs 93200.00 cash, mobiles were recovered by police three days ago.
Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary has been designated as in charge SIT, whereas SDPO Vijaypur, DySP Operations Samba, SHO Police Station Ramgarh and Inspector, Sham Lal of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh have been appointed as members of the SIT. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) shall be conducting investigation in consultation with learned prosecuting officers under the direct supervision of SSP Samba.
The Special Investigation Team has been constituted to ensure that no perpetrator, aider, abettor or conspirator of crime goes scot free and exemplary, lacunae-free investigation is conducted to bring to the fore the facts.
SSP Samba said that three days back, on the intervening night of 11th and 12th of June at 12:45 a.m., Samba Police had achieved a major success by arresting three dreaded heroin smugglers of Punjab who had opened fire upon local youth at Rangoor Camp, Ramgarh. 2.080 K.G. heroin worth rupees 14 crore approximately, one pistol, one magazine, ammunition and Rs 93200.00 Indian currency, four costly mobile phones, Innova vehicle used for smuggling and looted bike were recovered by Samba Police.
SSP said investigation of case FIR No. 31/2023 u/s 307/392 IPC, 3/25 Arms Act, 8 /21/22/25/27-A/29 NDPS Act is being conducted by SIT headed by SP rank officer and comprising of three gazetted police officers and two inspectors under the supervision of SSP Samba so that entire smugglers’ module is busted and conviction is secured at the court of law.
