JAMMU, Sept 23: ‘Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra’ celebrates its Foundation day on the occasion of Sharda-Ashtami today at Anandnagar, Bohri.
Since the foundation of SSK in the year 1995, this occasion is celebrated every year with fervour and gaiety. A Mahayagya was held to pay obeisance to Mata Sharda the Goddess of knowledge and learning, whose very ancient temple stands in Kishanganga/Neelam Valley, just beyond the Line of Control in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The programme started with Pushparchana offering of flowers to Mata Sharda followed by Sharda Vandana.
This year Karyakarta Sammelan was held. The activities in various dimensions of service to the society about 20 in number are being carried out by the Kendra at its centers formed in Jammu and other places. It was also reported that Sanksar Kendras have been formed to impart moral values of life among the coming up generation. The Incharge of holding festivals reported that from the past 3 years on the occasion of Navreh Mahotsav contact has been estalibhsed at various places in the country and abroad.
The Kendra has till now published more than 22 Books pertaining Kashmir, its land, culture and philosophy, to enlighten the young generation of the pride and ethos of Kashmir and Kashmir’s people. It was also informed that two more books are under process for publication.
Students of Sharda Institute of Computer education Jagti recited patriotic song and students from SICE Anand Nagar Bohri recited Sharda Vandana & the sholaks of Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta which was applauded by the audience.
At the end of programme the Chairman SSK Dr. M. K. Bharat appealed the people to come forward to associate with the Kendra to carry ahead the service in various fields. While highlighting the objective of SSK Dr. Bharat stressed that the Kendra is working for the promotion of system and not for the projection of Person. Vice Chairman SSK Dwarika Nath , and Senior Trustees Hirday Nath Pandita and Brij Lal Marhatta were on the dais.
The programme was conducted by Radhey Shyam Mussa and vote of thanks was proposed by the general secretary of the Kendra M. K. Bhat.
