JAMMU: A jawan of Sashastra Seema Bal from the bordering Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir was killed in a Maoists attack at Jharkhand.
The martyred Jawan identified as Sanjeet Kumar, resident of village Uttrai in Kathua district, died in a Naxal attack at village Kathaldeh, District Gooda in Jharkhand, when the troop was on long range patrolling.
The village was in mourn, when the news of his death flashed. As per the family of the deceased, he joined SSB in 2010 and passed out parade in 11th BRTC, CT/ED Batch Gorakhpur in 2012. The martyred jawan got married in February, 2015.
“Body of martyred jawan will reach his native village tomorrow for last rites,” a police spokesman said. (AGENCIES)
