SSA teachers demand release of 5 months salaries

SAMBA, Jan 20: In order to fulfil their demands regarding disposal of around five months pending salary with implementation of Seventh Pay Commission, stream lining of pay with State budget, issuance of new SRO in favour of regularised SSA teachers, etc, J&K RET/ SSA Teachers Forum urged the Government to settle the demands immediately.
Talking to media persons at Vijaypur today Rinku Sharma alias Rinku Pradhan, Samba Unit head of Jammu and Kashmir ReT/SSA Teachers Forum, alleged that the Government has totally betrayed SSA / RET teachers.
He said that there are around forty one thousand SSA teachers in the State who are suffering due to the irresponsible attitude adopted by Government towards them. He said these teachers have no another sources of income except Government job. He also said that families of concerned teachers are in great dilemma due to the non payment of salaries. Reluctance of the State Government as well as Central Government towards issue has added to the miseries of already disturbed SSA teachers which has been viewed seriously by the Forum, he added.
Rinku Pradhan appealed to the State as well Centre Government to issue the new SRO regarding the regularised SSA teachers.
He also said that the despite the Government’s repeated claims, that the salary will be streamlined very soon, for last five months the SSA teachers are without salaries and the same were not released. He said the SSA teachers’ are on the verge of starvation and no one is paying heed to the grievances of these teachers. He urged the State Government and Governor to resolve the burning issues of SSA teachers in Short span of time.
