SRTC voluntary retired employees highlight demands

JAMMU, May 12:  All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association has announced to organize a mass protest on March 23 near Press Club Jammu for highlighting their demands.
Decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of the Association, held here today under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Bali.
The meet strongly criticized the State Government for its insensitive attitude towards the VR employees and their genuine demands. “We are struggling for the last more than five years and our 13 colleagues have passed away during this period  of struggle  as they could not afford treatment due to non-availability of money for the same,” Dev Raj said.
The Association alleged that the Government was deliberately turning a deaf ear towards their demands, which included release of 6th Pay Commission arrears, COLA arrears since 1999 and the pension benefits.
The meeting was attended by Balwinder Singh, Surinder Singh, J D Singh, B B Sharma, Prem Nath, Gulshan Singh,  Dwarka Nath and others.
