SRTC DyGM suspended for fitment of substandard spares

JAMMU, Jan 4:   Parvaiz Ahmad, Deputy General Manager (Maintenance) Pampore, Srinagar,  has been suspended for  fitment  of substandard spares in the vehicles repaired  at the workshop.
The suspension was ordered by SRTC Vice-Chairman  Haji Parvaiz Ahmad on the basis of an enquiry into developing of frequent breakdown in the vehicles, which had been declared roadworthy after repair work in the Central Workshop Pampore.
The matter came into light during the official tour of  Haji Parvaiz Ahmad to Ladakh  and inspection of  SRTC Depot Leh ,  where he noticed that the vehicles stationed there were developing frequent breakdown. The staff posted there informed him that  those vehicles, with registration number  JK01Y-485, 453 and 247 were officially declared roadworthy after prolong detention at the Central Workshop Pampore, Srinagar.
The enquiry into the matter established that sub-standard spares were fitted in those vehicles following which the Deputy General Manager was placed under suspension.
