Scores of such persons—whose fathers have died on duty—appeared in the Press Enclave raising slogans against the authorities for not clearing their files while they said that other departments were getting the cases duly cleared.
“We are following the SRO-43 for the last several years but our issue has not been resolved so far,” said one of the aspirants, Muhammad Altaf Bhat.
He said that nearly 202 such cases are lying pending with the PHE while the same is not being cleared by the authorities.
“Other departments are clearing the same, but the PHE is keeping it pending while as we have been running from pillar to post,” he said adding that the authorities are resorting to only delay tactics.
The protesting aspirants said that within one week if the authorities do not clear their cases, they will be forced to intensify the protests. “In that case, we will go for a hunger strike from next week because we have been protesting for a long time but the issue remains unresolved.
