Srinagar records coldest night

SRINAGAR, Dec 5: While there was increase in maximum temperature in few parts of Valley, the summer capital Srinagar here witnessed coldest night of the season today.
A Meteorological Department official said that Srinagar recorded a low of -3.8 against the previous of -3.7 degree Celsius while day temperature settled at 16.0 degree Celsius, which is three notches higher than yesterday.
He said that Qazigund in South Kashmir recorded a low of -3.2 degree Celsius against previous of -2.8 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Qazigund settled at 13.4 degree Celsius.
Pahalgam resort recorded a low of -4.4 degree Celsius against the previous of -4.1 degree Celsius while maximum temperature was 13.3 degree Celsius. Kupwara in North Kashmir recorded a low of -3.2 degree Celsius against previous of -2.8 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Kupwara was  15.7 degree Celsius.
Gulmarg ski resort of North Kashmir recorded a low of -4.5 degree Celsius, the coldest in Valley, against the previous of -3.0 degree Celsius while the day temperature settled at 6.2 degree Celsius. Leh recorded coldest night in Jammu and Kashmir where mercury settled at -10.5 degree Celsius against the previous of -12.0 degree Celsius while maximum temperature was 8.5 degree Celsius. The nearby Kargil recorded a low of -5.2 while day temperature settled at 8.6 degree Celsius.
