Srinagar recorded hottest day of season at 32.4 degree

SRINAGAR: The summer capital Srinagar of Jammu and Kashmir recorded the hottest day of the season so far after the mercury surged and settled at 32.4 degree Celsius though there was some respite from hot and humid temperature due to clouds and wind in the afternoon.

A Met department spokesperson here said light rain and thunderstorms would occur in Kashmir valley, including Srinagar, during the next 24 hours.

People in the summer capital woke up to a hot and humid morning and as the day progressed, the mercury further surged and settled at 32.4 degree Celsius, which is over four degrees above normal. There was some respite later in the afternoon in Srinagar due to cloudy and windy weather.

He said the maximum and minimum temperatures in Srinagar tomorrow will be around 31 degree and 16 degree respectively. (AGENCIES)
