SRCC starts Science and Technology component

JAMMU, July 11: The SR College of Competitions (SRCC) here today started the General Studies Paper-III Science and Technology component for Civil Services aspirants by visiting Delhi faculty, Dr Raj Shekhar.
The fortnight-long special classes, divided into four-hours each of two sessions on daily basis was today attended by around 200 students of the college.
To begin with introduction of the component with regard to its significance in both preliminary and mains examination, Dr Raj Shekhar presented an overview of the widespread subject.
While discussing the topics to be covered, he laid emphasis on preparations with eye on the newly incorporated changes in the KAS examination, especially the pattern of the examination on the lines of UPSC.
“Three areas are critical in Science and Technology included Information Technology and related issues, Space Technology and Bio Technology. The analysis of previous year questions has established their utility and dominance in both Preliminary and Main examinations,” Dr Raj Shekhar told the target students.
He also elaborated other topics like Nano Technology, Robotics, Defence Issues, Renewable Energy and Technology in Sports.
“I have discussed with students how to prepare for basic science-Biology, Chemistry and Physics for both UPSC and JKPSC (KAS) examinations. All these topics shall be covered in details,” he informed.
Meanwhile, as per the Centre Head of the SRCC, Praful Sharma, the College shall start the Test Series for KAS Preliminary examinations from July 15 for both students and non-students of the College.
