JAMMU, Mar 5: The SR College of Competitions (SRCC) held a workshop on Essay Paper for the Civil Services aspirants in the College premises at Gandhi Nagar, here today.
Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma, an expert faculty in the field of Civil Services with regard to Essay Paper, conducted the workshop. All the aspects including the scheme and pattern of the exam, approach, sources of study material and the books required, use of online sources and the relevance of newspaper reading in preparing for the Essay Paper and writing test series were covered thoroughly and to the satisfaction of the students.
The expert faculty dealt with the subject of Essay Writing comprehensively by discussing the very basic logic for including essay in the mains phase. He thoroughly explained various strategies for preparation for the compulsory Essay Paper. He opined that a serious effort to master the Essay Paper can help aspirants in other descriptive papers too as it will enhance their writing skills which in turn will better their chances of getting good marks in other papers.
In a highly interactive session, aspirants participated well with a number of questions regarding the subject and were highly satisfied by the doubt-clearing answers offered by the expert. Aspirants were also suggested to gain multi-disciplinary knowledge to write well as essay writing at Civil Services level needs to be quite updated, progressive and solution-oriented. They were suggested to attempt test series regarding the Essay Paper quite frequently so that they get an expert feedback about their writing skills.
Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma advised all the aspirants to attempt essays with a solution-oriented approach while upholding constitutional values, communal harmony, democratic principles and positive suggestions for the future.
The response to the highly interactive sessions was overwhelming and the attendees appreciated the initiative taken by the SR College of Competitions. The attendees included the aspirants preparing for IAS and JKAS 2023 and also undergraduates who will be eligible in a couple of years.
“SR College keeps on organising such workshops, seminars , webinars and interactions with the IAS officers, KAS toppers and various subject experts and this workshop was part of the series,” informed Office Coordinator Supriya Raina.
