Spurt in man-animal encounters

Sir,
From the last so many years we notice wild beasts coming down into villages from their habitats to meet hunger. Because of deforestration, forests are not now in possession of meeting the day-to-day needs of the wild beasts. Most of the forest land area is open and is being used for agricultural purposes. The forest land area has narrowed largely. We have lost number of wild species because of the fact we could not preserve forests. The result is now before us. The wild beasts are now turning towards villages and are creating terror and havoc mainly to have their fill. Whosoever comes in their way do attack and devour him. They not only kill human beings, they barge into the cattle sheds and kill cattle. Many cattle are injured. Recently in Rajouri a leopard created havoc in Niaka Majan area, killed two goats of a farmer and left half-a-dozen others injured. It is also reported that a leopard barged into the cattle shed of another person and killed two goats. The wild beasts also mauled six other animals besides two horses in the same area and created panic in the belt. In Kashmir at some places in Ganderbal a herd of bears attacked men, women and cattle one after the other. This state of affairs needs prompt action from the Govt. and Deptt of Wildlife for the life for the safety sake. Right measures have to be taken in this behalf right now.
Yours etc…..
