Jammu, Jan 23: Calling upon the party workers to spread the message of peace and brotherhood, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that strengthening brotherhood and peace was the real tributes to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Addressing a function organized by Nitish Mahajan, President, Gandhi Nagar zone of PDP to pay tributes to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP leader and former Minister, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjoora said that the former Chief Minister would be remembered as crusader of peace, who throughout his life had worked for restoring lasting and sustainable peace in the sub-continent. He said that throughout his life Mufti Sayeed worked for communal harmony, brotherhood and peace.
He described Mufti Sayeed as statesman and distinguished leader, whose contribution towards development, political stability and peace and reconciliation will always be remembered in the days to come.
Speaking on the occasion, general secretary of the PDP, Ved Mahajan said that Mufti Sayeed life was a source of inspirations for thousands of PDP workers. He said that it was duty of every PDP workers to work for restoring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that it was desire of Mufti Sayeed to make Jammu and Kashmir as an Island of Peace where every individual will get equal opportunity of growth and development.
All the speakers prayed for an eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss and also extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Speakers, while expressing their heartfelt condolence of party president Mehbooba Mufti, said that all workers and leaders are with party president at this hour of grief and sorrow.
