JAMMU, Feb 5: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is pursuing the mission of making State a progressive, developed and peaceful region where all segments of the people, especially living in remote and far flung areas could live with peace, honour and dignity.
This was stated by Sajjad Shaheen, National Conference leader while addressing party workers and delegates in a convention held in Banihal today.
He asked the party workers to aware the masses about the programmes and policies of the party and work tirelessly to strengthen the party at the grass root level.
Shaheen said that the steps taken by the Government during the past five years have left indelible mark on governance.
It was after hectic efforts and upright stand taken by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, which led to creating of new administrative units in the State, Shaheen added.
He termed the creation of 659 new administrative units as the second biggest decision after Land to Tiller Act.
Expressing his satisfaction over Sub-Division status for Banihal and Ramsoo, Tehsil status to Khari and Pogal-Paristan with head quarter at Ukharhal, besides creation of two Community blocks, four Naiabats and Patwar Halqas in every Panchayat in Banihal constituency, he said that the creation of these units was a long pending demand of the people of these respective areas and the present Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has ensured that the creation takes place and the demands of the people of these areas are met.
