Born on August 27, 1972, Dalip Singh Rana, known by his ring name Great Khali is an Indian professional Wrestler, actor and power-lifter. He currently works for WWE. He debuted with Dara Daivari and had alliances with Jinder Mahal and Ranjit Singh. He came to limelight when he became World heavyweight champion for the first time in 2007. He was officer in Punjab Police before embarking in WWE. He has also appeared in 4 Bollywood films and 2 Hindi films.
He weighs about 190 kg and stands more than 7 feet in height. He made his debut in 2000. Khali was born in Himachal Pradesh to Jawala Ram and Tandi Devi. He is a Hindu Rajput. Khali suffers from Acromegaly, a stage where a person suffers from Gigantism. In August 2001, Khali was brought into New Japan Pro Wrestling where he partnered with Giant Silva and created history by becoming the tallest tag team in wrestling standing at an average of almost 7.2 feet. Earlier, on January 2m 2000, Dalip became the first Indian to be signed by the WWE. On April 7, 2006 he wrestled under his real name defeating Funaki. Khali challenged Undertaker in Punjabi Prison match at the Great American Bash, but was replaced by Bigshow as he was not able to clear the medical test and Bigshow lost. On January 8, 2007, he signed Raw and defeated John Cena in the first match. He was accompanied by Ranjin Singh who became his translator and manager in 2007. 0n July 20, 2007 he became WWE World Heavyweight Champion defeating Batista and Kane.
