SPO injured in Pak firing

JAMMU, Mar 8: After a lull of two days, Pakistan army today again violated ceasefire by resorting to mortar shelling and firing in Shahpur and Kirni sectors of Poonch district in which a Special Police Officer (SPO) was injured.
Pakistan army opened mortar shelling and firing targeting forward posts of Army and civilian areas at Shahpur and Kirni at about 5 pm today.
The Indian side retaliated firing and shelling strongly.
An SPO Sayed Ahmed, 30, son of Sideeq Hussain, a resident of Gountrian was hit by a splinter of the bullet in Kirni sector and injured.

He was evacuated from the spot and shifted to District Hospital Poonch.
The firing stopped tonight.
There were reports that Pakistan army suffered heavy losses in retaliatory shelling and firing by the Indian side.
Some Pakistani posts were destroyed, sources said.
