SPMR College organizes Preamble reading, essay writing competition

JAMMU, Feb 21: Government SPMR College of Commerce Jammu today organized Preamble reading and essay writing competition.
The events, organized as part of Constitution Day celebrations, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty demonstrating their respect for the Indian Constitution.
Prior to the essay competition, a Preamble reading was organized, where students and faculty members collectively read the Preamble, reaffirming their commitment to the principles enshrined within it. This activity served as a powerful reminder of the core values that underpin the Indian nation.
The theme of the essay competition was “Importance of Constitution for Democracy”, which provided a platform for students to delve into the various aspects of the Constitution, including its historical context, fundamental rights and its role in shaping modern India.
Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Rajinder Singh emphasized the importance of such events in fostering awareness and appreciation for the Constitution among the youth. He said that Constitution Day is an occasion to reflect on the values embedded in Constitution and to reaffirm commitment to upholding them.
The entire programme was organized by Dr Deepshikha Sharma (Convener, Cultural and Literary Committee), Prof Shaji Khan, Dr Jagmeet Kour, Prof Sanjeev Verma, Dr Madhu Bala, Dr Roomi Rani, Prof Esha Abrol, Dr Neeru Devi Anand, Dr Mamta Rani, and others.
Those present on the occasion included Prof Pawan Gupta, Dr Reena Rani, Dr Rajni Sharma, Prof Sabia Akhter, Mamta Verma, Rahul and Pawan Kumar.
