JAMMU, Dec 29: Speedball coach, Sunny Nanda and six players from the State excelled in the event held at the higher levels, helping the State to keep its flag high at the National scene.
Sunny Nanda and some players participated in 28th World Speedball Championship held at Tunisia. Aryan Vaid of MV International School emerged Champion of the year in the State Speedball Championship and 5 players from J&K State participated in 62nd National School Games held in Chhattisgarh recently under the banner of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and won 3 gold and 2 silver medals.
Ajay Singh from DHSS won bronze medal at Tunisia, while Sunny Nanda also won bronze medal in doubles match at Tunisia. Sugandh Mehta bagged gold medal at Chhattisgarh in singles, while Gurmanjeet and Aditya Singh also won gold medals in boys double match at Chhattisgarh.
Reha Tikku and Manpreet Kour won silver medal each in girls doubles event.
A function was organized by J&K Sports Speedball Association at Amar Singh Club Jammu to encourage the players. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Patron of J&K Sports Speedball Association was the chief guest on the occasion, while Shantmanu, CEO J&K, Director Sports, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, Danish Kumar, IG BSF, and Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman MV International School were the special guests.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Pooja Malhotra, Founder Patron, Vijay Gupta, Patron, ER SP Langer, Chief Advisor, V K Sharma, Anil Nanda, DS Bhau, Nitish Mahajan, A K Jasorita, Ravi Tikku, Gourav Abrol and Sunny Magotra were present on this occasion.
