JAMMU, Apr 9: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has expressed concern over the shortage of medicines for chronic patients during the lockdown triggered by deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
In a handout Prof. Kali Dass, General Secretary AIBCU stated that patients suffering from chronic diseases like cancer, kidney failures etc are totally depending on medicines without any break and these people are suffering most during the lockdown.
“As TV channels are hinting over the extension of lockdown we request the Prime Minister for at least a fortnight courier or speed post services so that such patients may get their medicines which are only available in Delhi,” he said.
Dass also said that due to the lockdown for the past 15 days all the road and air services are off and when the patients approaches the respective pharmacies of Delhi, the latter show helplessness for sending medicines because of no courier service or speed post services.
