Special Secretary Higher Education releases book

JAMMU, Mar 18: Special Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Rakesh Badyal, released a text book titled ‘Foundation Course in Chemistry-II’ at Civil Secretariat, here today.
Sharing the details about the book, Dr Ashaq Hussain (Associate Professor, Chemistry, Government Degree College Chatroo), one of the authors of the Book stated that the ‘Foundation Course in Chemistry-II’ covers the topics typically found in semester-II Chemistry course for under graduate students of different university under NEP-2020.
Dr Hussain added that the book is a joint effort with Dr Balwinder Saini (Assistant Professor, Chemistry, GDC Marh) and Dr Altaf Hussain (Assistant Professor, Chemistry, GDC Poonch) and is specially meant to help BSc-Semester-II students who are studying Chemistry as Major/Minor Course in various colleges affiliated with Jammu University. He said the Book is likely to provide first hand study material as per the prescribed syllabus to the students and has been written in a lucid language with a well-defined solving strategy and is presented in a way to encourage readers to think like a chemist.
Special Secretary Higher Education, while appreciating the efforts of writers, discussed the contents of the Book. He expressed the book as scholarly and thereby providing quality material to the students and teachers. The Special Secretary with a motivating word encouraged the authors to continue with writing thereby contributing in the field of education as there is no end to learning and one learns till the last day of life.
Among others, president of College Teacher Association (CTA) Dr Rakesh Jasrotia, Dr Sarabjeet Singh (OSD), HoD Mechanical Engineering, Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu and Dr Rahul Kait Associate Professor Zoology were also present on the occasion.
