Seminar on Kashmir Shaivism

JAMMU, Apr 30: A seminar on the theme “Maha Maheshwacharya Swami Ram Ji and Kashmir Shaivism” was organized at KP Sabha, Amphalla, here by Nancy Foundation today.
The event was organized to highlight the role of Maha Maheshwaracharya Swami Ram Ji in leading the resurgence of Trika Parampara of Kashmir.
Dr.Sarvesh Tripathi, Faculty, Central Sanakrit University, Ranbir Campus ,Kot Bhalwal, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. He in his address said,” Kashmiri Pandits have played a pivotal role in enriching the Agama tradition and developing Kashmir as the centre of Shaiva studies. He appreciated the efforts of the students and said that youth must carry forward the Shaiva legacy of Kashmir. He said that these children with their interest are creating the rejuvenated Sharda Peeth in exile.”
Dr.Sujeet Kumar Pandey, Faculty, Central Sanskrit University, Ranbir Campus, Kot Bhalwal, and S.K.Raina were the adjudicators for the seminar.
Dr.Sujeet Kumar Pandey, said that,”Kashmir Shaiva philosophy is the practical exposition of the being and becoming. It is a living tradition and is recognized all over the globe. Time has come to institutionalize the research and Gurus Shishya Parampara in a professional manner. There is an urgent need to set up exclusive research centre to propagate the Kashmir Shiava philosophy and practice.
Sanjay Raina, eminent Trika Exponent and Shaiva Sadhak and Dr.MaheshKaul,Tantra Scholar and academician were the key note speakers.
Sanjay Raina on the occasion said,” Swami Ram Ji Maharaj is the modern Abhinavagupta who not only rejuvenated the Shaiva tradition but institutionalized the system and with establishment of Ram Shaivtrika Ashram at Fateh Kadal, Srinagar and that legacy is still in practice in exile. His prime disciples Swami Vidhyadhar, Swami MahtabKak, Swami Govind Kaul Jalali and many more enriched the tradition. Swami Ram Ji gave a civilisational response with his sadhna to the onslaught by regressive forces on the community.
Dr.Mahesh Kaul, on the occasion said,”Kashmiri Pandits are facing a genocidal war and the enemies of the Sanskrit tradition knew that Kashmiri Pandits are the anchors of Sanskrit Bharat in Kashmir. So they inflicted genocide on the community in Kashmir to weaken the Indian nationhood in the Himalayas.
Shirya Koul, Muskan Razdan, Ojasvi Raina ,Gunjan Raina and Neha Koul were adjudged as best speakers.
Dharmic cultural programme was presented by the students of Matamaal-The satchel.
The event was moderated by Ravi Mahaldar and the formal vote of thanks was delivered by Bushan Lal Jalali, Chairman, Nancy Foundation.
