Speaker inspects ongoing works

JAMMU, Sept 3: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today visited KC Colony in Prem Nagar to take stock of the various ongoing development works in the area.
The locals hailing from all sections of the society apprised the Speaker about the problems being faced by them related to power supply, water supply, education, sanitation and road connectivity.
The Speaker said that the construction of road from the Colony till Nanak Nagar would be completed by the end of next month. As far as the water supply is concerned, 9 new tube wells have been commissioned in Gandhi Nagar for streamlining supply of water in the area and construction of few new tube wells is in the pipeline.
The Speaker said the roads in the area would be blacktopped in a stipulated time frame and instructed the officers of the concerned department to take up the construction work of roads of the area on priority basis.
The Speaker further said that specific instructions have been given to the officers of various executing agencies for expediting the pace of development works. He appealed the people to cooperate with the Government for keeping the city clean and play their part in realising the dream of ‘Swachh Bharat’.
