LEH, May 16: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Dr. Nirmal Singh today inaugurated a 3-day National Scholars Confluence on the eve of the birth centenary celebrations of 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Nirmal Singh expressed happiness to be part of the celebrations of a legendary figure whose contribution in ensuring communal harmony and development has been immense. He stressed on the importance to follow the paths guided by them. He added that Kushok Bakula has been a forerunner in nation building and it is our responsibility to work together to relive his vision.
Dr Nirmal Singh said that organizing such national conferences is a good medium to honor Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, besides it provides a platform for experts and scholars to come together and deliberate over important issues. Meaningful interaction in such conferences gives the opportunity to come out with valuable suggestions and solutions for mitigation of the problems discussed.
In his speech CEC, Dorjey Mutup highlighted the political career of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche and his valuable contribution in promoting education in Ladakh.
Other experts and scholars from different parts of India also spoke on the occasion.
EC Agriculture Tsering Wangdus, EC Health Gyal P. Wangyal, Councilors, National General Secretary, BJP & Director India Foundation, Chairman ICHR Prof Arvind P. Jamkhedkar, Member Secretary ICPR Prof Rajneesh Kumar Shukla, Kuldip Chand Agnihotri, Director CIBS Geshe Konchok Wangdu and others dignitaries and scholars were present on the occasion.
