SRINAGAR, Oct 23: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mubark Gul today convened a meeting of the officers of Labour Department in his office chamber in connection with the representation by certain Trade Unions pertaining to the grievances.
Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment and the members of the various Workers Unions participated in the meeting.
The Speaker stressed for speedy registration of the construction workers as beneficiaries and clearance of the pending financial assistance cases in accordance with the set norms on the subject. The Speaker also directed that the J&K Building and Other Construction Welfare Board should develop required infrastructure, sufficient manpower and mobility facility and also give full cooperation to the district offices of the Labour Department, so that the process of verification of cases is carried out by the officers smoothly without any delay.
The Speaker stressed upon the functionaries of Labour and Employment Department to frequently conduct awareness programmes among masses about the process of registration and benefits of various welfare schemes so that the quantum of the registration is increased and benefits reach to the deserving people well in time.
