JAMMU, Mar 30: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul today directed the Chief Secretary to take immediate measures to check flowing of drainage water, pollutants and other solid waste into the world famous Dal lake. He also directed for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in the Dal area in view of ensuing tourist season.
The Speaker passed these directions on a point raised by Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal in the House during the Zero Hour.
Responding to a point raised by Aga Ruhulla for extension of date for filing of applications by Haj aspirants, the Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather informed the House that he has already spoken to the Minister for Haj and Auquaf, Peerzada Mohammad Sayed for taking up the matter with the Central Government for doing the needful.
On another point raised by G M Saroori regarding clearance of liabilities of contractors and labour on account of several works executed, specifically in erstwhile Doda district, the Finance Minister said that Government has already issued instructions to all the treasuries across the State to clear all the genuine bills preferred to them. He assured the Member that all outstanding bills on account of contract works will be cleared.
Krishan Chander Bhagat demanded setting up of Trauma hospital between Patnitop and Udhampur to handle the accidental cases. Baldev Sharma demanded extension in the deadline beyond March 31 for amnesty to the consumers for clearing electric bills.
Hakim Mohammad Yasin urged for early opening of health centres in the uncovered areas. Prof Chaman Lal Gupta urged the Government to develop multi-storey parking places in Jammu. Irfan Shah demanded repair of damaged electric transformers in his constituency.
Mohammad Sharief Niaz sought compensation, free seeds and fertilizers to the people whose crops were damaged due to hail storms and drought in the erstwhile Doda district. Qamar Ali Akhoon demanded early commissioning of PHE scheme in the Kargil town. Bimla Luthra sought upgradation of power infrastructure in the rural and border areas.
Ashok Kumar demanded new healthcare centres in the uncovered areas of Ramban. Mohammad Ashraf Ganai demanded repair of damaged bridge in his constituency. Charanjeet Singh and Jagdish Spolia expressed concern over the setting up of new Toll Plaza by NHAI in Kathua district. They urged the Government to intervene and get the toll tax reviewed/slashed.
Harshdev Singh urged the Government to explore possibilities for launching Metro Train services in Jammu city in view of heavy load of vehicular traffic. He said the Jammu city fulfills the norms set by the Central Government for Metro services.
Durga Dass demanded tehsil status for Gagwal in view of huge catchment area. Ashwani Sharma demanded compensation for the farmers of his constituency whose crops were damaged due to hail storm. Javed Dar raised the issue of allotment of Kashmiri migrants in Jagti hutments. He demanded allotment for all genuine migrants as per the norms.
Yashpaul Kundal demanded rationalization of vacancies in newly created districts of Samba and Reasi etc and alleged discrimination with Samba district on account of irrational posts in Government Departments.
Er Sheikh Rashid demanded immediate release of all those people in the Valley who were detained by the Government during the past few weeks.
