JAMMU, Mar 10: Speaker of the Legislative Assembly is competent to make appointment of non-gazetted employees in the Secretariat of the Lower House of the State Legislature.
Official sources said that as per the rules Speaker can make appointment of non-gazetted staff in the Assembly Secretariat while as Secretary is competent to make appointment of 4th class employees.
“The General Administ-ration Department, Public Service Commission and Service Selection Board don’t have any role in the appointments in the Assembly”, they said, adding “the entire process of appointment in the Assembly Secretariat is conducted in most transparent manner”.
