JAMMU, Mar 9: A free medical camp was organized at Marh by Sant Pura Danna Charitable (SPDC) Trust under the patronage of Sant Tejwant Singh, Head of Sant Pura Danna.
The camp was sponsored by Joginder Singh Bali and Updesh Kour Bali of Hong Kong. MLA Sukhnandan Choudhary and MLC Charanjit Singh Khalsa inaugurated the camp. The camp was organized for different treatments like skin problems, joint pains, piles, fistula, fissures, sciatica, lower back ache, etc.
A team of doctors from the Institute of Ayurveda and Research Jammu comprising Dr Twinkle Gupta MS (Ayu) Dr Kanav Sharma, Dr Adil Khan (Surgeon), Dr Shamim Khan (MS) and Dr Shifali Magotra was present in the camp and gave free Ayurvedic medicines to the patients. Medical Officers, Dr Madhubala, Dr Ravinder Kour, Dr Heenu, Dr Mamta, and Dr Priyadarshni also checked a number of patients.
Some other specialist doctors including Dr Deepak Bharti (Physician), Dr Mukesh Sharma and Dr Aniti Pal (ENT) treated a number of patients in the camp. They also advised the patients to adopt a healthy life style which includes regular walk and other physical activities. Senior Physiotherapist, Darshan Singh from Mohali (Chandigarh) also provided his services to the noble cause initiated by the trust.
Various diagnostics tests like ECG, biochemistry and free medicines were also given to the patients from Cadila Ltd. Jammu. At least 800 patients took benefit of the camp.
Other prominent persons who coordinated and managed the camp were Balvinder Singh (social activist), Dr Bhopinder Singh, Manjeet Singh (Director, Horizon Construction), Balbir Singh Sudan, Kuldeep Singh, Kulwant Singh, Balwant Singh and Harbans Singh.
