POONCH, May 11: Superintendent of Police Poonch Shamsheer Hussain visited several markets in the town and listened to the main issues of the traders and general public.
Accompanied by the senior staff members and some civil officials, the SP took stock of over all security review and issued fresh instructions. He also appealed the traders not to encroach upon the foot paths and lanes/ roads. He asked the Executive Engineer PDD to properly get the electric cables fixed at the poles which are creating threat to the life of the citizens at several vital points. He also asked its own staff to raise security pickets at vital points. He asked the MCP staff to monitor removal of encroachments on lanes and roads.
He also convened a meeting with the traders, religious leaders and prominent persons from Poonch, Surankote, Mendhar and Mandi and sought public support. Mr Hussain also assured them to look into their problems and asked the citizens to make personal contact with him in case of any emergency or problem.
