RAMBAN, Apr 20: Continuing the drive to make police stations of district Ramban women centric, a Women Help Desk was inaugurated by SP Ramban PD Nitya at Police Station Banihal.
Similarly these women help desks are functioning in every police station of the district and the aim is to ensure timely redressal of women related issues and facilitate the complainants.
It’s an endeavour on the part of J&K Police to provide women friendly platform for reporting and addressing the crime against the women which many a time goes unnoticed.
Alongside the women help desk, SP Ramban distributed 50 sewing machines among the ladies from poor economic background who are keen to pursue sartorial activities from different areas of Banihal Sub Division under the civic action program.
These sewing machines were distributed to women belonging to the below poverty line group with an aim to help them achieve financial independence.
