JAMMU, Feb 22: Ahead of coming Lok Sabha elections, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and AICC secretary & incharge J&K affairs of the party Main-ul-Haq discussed poll strategy with the members of the Pradesh Election Committee here today. Party sources said that the members threadbare discussed the policy and strategy to be adopted by the Party in the State for the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. They also stressed the need to strengthen the party in certain pockets and launch vigorous campaign. The members also discussed the names of certain strong contenders for the two Jammu, one Ladakh and three Kashmir Lok Sabha seats but they left the decision regarding the final selection of right candidate and any alliance with the coalition partner (NC) on the party high command. It was also decided to forward the panel at least three candidates from each Lok Sabha seat. It was stressed for intensifying campaign in various constituencies in view of coming elections. Former PCC president and Minister for Haj, Auqaf and Horticulture Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, an important member of the Committee could not attend the meeting as he was in Delhi. Others who attended the meeting included Dy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Dy CLP leader Mohd Sharief Niaz, MPs Madan Lal and Ch Lal Singh, Minister for PHE Sham Lal Sharma, Minister Incharge Tourism, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Bashir Ahmed Magray-MLC, Ravinder Sharma –MLC, T Samphel and Ghulam Raza both from Ladakh.
