Soybean futures drop on global cues

NEW DELHI, May 7: Soybean prices softened by Rs 9 to Rs 3,648 per quintal in futures trade today on cutting down of bets by participants, driven by lower overseas cues.
Market players attributed the downtrend to a weakening trend overseas.
Besides, sliding prices of edible oils too dampened trading sentiment of soybean futures, they added.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange  platform, soybean delivery for May eased by Rs 9 or 0.25 per cent to Rs 3,648 per quintal, showing an open interest of 1,07,510 lots.
Likewise, the delivery for June edged down by Rs 9 or 0.24 per cent to Rs 3,711 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 1,15,190 lots. (PTI)
