JAMMU, May 15: The SOS International, an organization of displaced persons from PoJK today issued white paper and criticised the Government for its attitude towards the displaced community.
A rally of PoK DPs was organised at Rehari Colony here today under the banner of SOS International. The speakers present there expressed their anguish over the policies of Government and its attitude towards PoK DPs.
Chairman SOS International, Rajiv Chuni released white paper exposing the cruel and discriminatory approach of both, Central and State Government towards PoK DPs vis-a-vis Kashmiri migrants. While releasing white paper Chuni said that this white paper will be distributed throughout the country by the organisation.
“All PoK DPs who are residing in various parts of India will distribute this white paper in their respective States so that everyone in the country would come to know that how Government deceived the worst and foremost victims of the State of Jammu and Kashmir with its biased approach. PoK DPs will be educated that whenever any political party approaches them for their political gains; this white paper must be slapped on their faces. They must ask leaders, why the values of preamble of Constitution of India – justice, social, economic and political and equality of status and of opportunity’ to every citizen of the country are missing in this case,” Chuni added.
He alleged that DPs are suffering due to cruel approach of Government. It can be gauged by looking at the deeds of Government that for PoK DPs they don’t have any place neither in their heart nor in their agenda. He further said that after their forceful exodus from their native places, PoK DPs came here with a golden dream that they would be given honour, dignity, love and affection to lessen their anxiety and mental trauma of their genocide during tribal attack. But they were cheated again and again.
Chuni further said that PoK DPs exodus from their homelands was politically motivated and the same motivation still exists. During these 7 decades, we have hit our heads from pillar to post with an appeal to save our endangered cultural, linguistic and ethnic identities but unfortunately our voices fell on deaf years of Government.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included Lalit Kumar, Ram Singh, Rajinder Tandon, Roshan Lal, Roshan Malhotra, Sharda Devi, Prof NN Sharma, OP Khajuria, Tarvinder Singh, Sanjay Kohli, VK Dutta, Dr JP Sharma, Virinder Khajuria, GS Isher and Sanjeev Suri.
