JAMMU, July 23: SOS International, an Organization for PoJK Displaced Persons today launched “Refugee Jan Jagran Abhiyan” to educate the displaced/refugee society about the power of their being united.
Speaking on the occasion at Master Devi Chand Park, Rehari Colony, chairman of he Organization, Rajiv Chuni said that different political parties in the State have been exploiting the sentiments of this ragged society of the displaced people from the Pak occupied parts of the united Jammu and Kashmir, during the elections to grab their votes.
Mr Chuni advised them to cut across the socio-religious lines and stand united like a wall to frustrate the designs of corrupt and opportunist politicians who discuss the issues related to the community, but never bothered to initiate any process to resolve these issues once they occupy the seat of power.
He vowed to make people to change the precedence of 67 years, during which the community remained scattered, by uniting them to fight for the justice which has been eluded to them by the politicians.
He claimed that the State and Central Governments which included Congress, NC and PDP in the State and NDA and UPA at the Centre have been tossing the issues related to this displaced community for political exploitation.
Mr Chuni said the Displaced Community with lakhs of voters will play a decisive role in the forthcoming Assembly elections to be held in the State, adding the organization has decided to dump all those politicians and political parties who in past have mesmerized the innocent members of the community with sweet lip service about resolving their issues.
He said that this time they have decided to teach them a lesson with a slogan “No Work, No Vote”.
“It is unfortunate the State and the Central Governments neither want to see their plight, nor want to hear about their pathetic conditions and have never lend time to understand the issue,” Mr Chuni said.
He said that the BJP has been claiming to be the big supporters of our cause, but in the recent presidential address in the joint Parliament session there was a detailed reference on the migrants from Kashmir valley, but he did not bother even to mention the 1947 refugees or displaced people from PoJK.
