JAMMU, July 17: AICC (I) general secretary, Incharge Jammu and Kashmir, Ambika Soni, former Union Ministers Ghulam Nabi Azad and PCC (I) chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz would be holding high level deliberations here during one day district Jammu (Urban and Rural) convention of the party at Sainik Farms in Sainik Colony on July 19.
Apart from top three party leaders, all Ministers, legislators, office bearers and senior functionaries were likely to attend the meeting, which would among other issues discuss the Congress debacle in recent Parliamentary elections and party’s strategy for the Assembly polls.
Party sources said Ambika Soni would listen to the view of the party functionaries on the Congress failure to win even a single Lok Sabha seat in the Parliamentary polls and debate strategy of the party for upcoming Assembly elections including an alliance with ruling National Conference.
Soni, Azad and Soz had held an important meeting in Srinagar recently to ascertain views of the party functionaries on the defeat in Lok Sabha polls and alliance with NC in the Assembly polls.
While Opposition PDP has announced about 60 candidates, NC has also released its first list of 32 candidates for Assembly elections, which were due to be held in November-December.The Congress and the BJP were yet to come out with list of their candidates.
