Son of soil Dr Kapoor from PGI gets Cancer Care Award

JAMMU, Sept 18: Son of soil, Dr Rakesh Kapoor has brought Laurels to J and K, India and Asia by winning IASLC ‘Cancer Care Team Award’.
He was member of Multidisciplinary Team From PGI Chandigarh alongwith Senior Pulmonologist Dr D Behra, Dr Navneet Singh and others.
Dr Rakesh Kapoor is a reknowned Radiation Oncologist working as Unit Head Radiation Oncology, RCC, PGIMER Chandigarh. He is also President of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India North Zone Chapter and is part of various Committees of Government of India to look after cancer care.
The award recognized the outstanding cancer care provided to lung cancer patients by multidisciplinary teams.
The award was conferred at recently held IASLC Conference at Barcelona, Spain. Finalists were from Europe, Latin America and North America.
PGIMER Chandigarh team won the overall award after scrutiny by an International Multidisciplinary Panel.
When Contacted Dr Deepak Abrol, general secretary NZAROI said that this is an honour for whole radiation Oncologists community and said that most of Radiation Oncologists of J and K have learnt skills of Brachytherapy from Dr Rakesh Kapoor only and recently he is also instrumental in starting fellowship course in Brachytherapy at PGIMER Chandigarh.
