SUCHETGARH, Jan 13:  Training guns at the mainstream political parties of Kashmir, former minister and senior Congress leader, RS Chib today alleged that some Kashmir centric political parties were speaking the language of Hurriyat Conference  while the  BJP  was maintaining `silence’ over the Jammu centric issues, ignoring the popular aspirations of the people of this region, just for the sake of power.
Addressing  Congress convention in  Suchetgarh constituency of district  Jammu  on the occasion of Lohri today, Chib said that there have been certain developments in the State recently and it is unfortunate that  some main stream political parties of Kashmir are speaking the language of Hurriyat.  He said when ever an issue pertaining to the interests of Kashmir arises, all the Kashmir based parties  and groups get united. Whether it was NIT Kashmir issue, NEET or the Sainik Colony issue of Kashmir, all the Kashmir based parties and groups got united, but the BJP maintained silence.
He said the BJP maintained silence on many Jammu centric issues and did not project voice for the rights of the people who voted them to power. Whether it was Article 370, PoK refugees, border migrants, West Pak refugees issue, the BJP kept mum. Even on the issue of domicile/ citizenship rights   to the  WPRs, the Kashmir based parties never supported the cause.  Chib said he was one of the members of the Central Board for Ex-servicemen where a decision was taken to have Sainik Colony in Srinagar like that in Jammu. But the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti claimed that no such a decision was ever taken regarding that. The BJP kept mum and its leaders never uttered a word, Chib regretted.
Taking a dig at PDP- BJP Govt Chib said that many projects which were started by the previous regime have been abandoned by the new dispensation. He referred to the construction work on Bana Singh Stadium at R S Pura  and Sub District Hospital and said these works have been abandoned. Even   Suchergarh Tehsil headquarters which was planned to be construct at RS Pura, has been shifted to a corner village Chakroi, falling in firing range of Pakistan by the sitting minister of the area despite public opposition. He declared to launch agitation to get the Tehsil headquarters of  Suchetgarh at RS Pura. The huge gathering also accorded full support to the agitation by raising hands and said that they were facing  lot of hardships.
While referring to the issue of package to the displaced persons from PoK in 1947, 1965 and 71 besides West Pak refugees, Chib said that Congress  Govt had proposed a package of  Rs 25 to 30 lakh per family but the BJP has now cleared just  Rs 5.50  lakh package per family which is joke with them. The people of Jammu whether refugees, border dwellers, daily wagers or others are feeling betrayed, Chib added.
Former minister and senior Congress leader Jugal Kishore Sharma (MLC), also launched scathing attack on the BJP and said that for the sake of power, they have forgotten all the promises made with the people of Jammu. On demonetization also the BJP proved big failure. Its leaders have failed to perform. The ministers here have become liability on the Jammu people.  They  failed to project the issues of Jammu people, Jugal added.
Senior Congress leaders  Th Hari Singh, Ashok Sharma (Ex-MLA), BS Slathia, MK Bhardwaj, Arun Sharma, Maheshwar Singh, Ashok Dubey, and Sushma Devi also spoke on the occasion.
