Soldier’s leg blown off in landmine explosion on LoC in Poonch

JAMMU, Dec 30:
The leg of a soldier was blown off when he inadvertently stepped over a landmine along the Line of Control in Poonch district.
Mohammad Khurshid, along with his colleagues was patrolling from Tarkndi to Deltote area in tehsil Mendhar of Poonch this evening at 1600 hrs,” official sources here said.
They said the jawan inadvertently stepped over the landmine, which exploded, resulting in critical injury to the victim. “The jawan has lost his left leg in the explosion,” they added.
Sources said he was shifted to the Military Hospital and his condition was stated to be stable. (AGENCIES)
