MENDHAR, Dec 23: An Army soldier was killed in an accidental fire from his own service rifle in Sagra-Balnoi area under KG Brigade last evening.
The deceased has been identified as Naik Anil Kumar of Mahar Regiment, hailing from Madhya Pardesh. Defence sources said that soldier received a bullet injury at his vital part when he was cleaning his Insas rifle. He was rushed to nearby unit hospital where he was declared as dead.
A Brigade Commander has ordered court of inquiry into the matter. The body of the victim has been sent to his home town in MP after completion of legal formalities by Mendhar Police.
