SRINAGAR, May 19: BJP Kupwara District President, Mir Mohd Sofi on Tuesday demanded renewal of driving licenses or extension of validity of documents like driving licenses, permits and registration certificate that has already expired during the lockdown.
In a handout Sofi claimed that this will ensure hassle-free transportation amid the lockdown.
He asked concerned authorities to treat such documents as valid till June 30 to facilitate transporters facing difficulties in renewing various documents due to nationwide lockdown.
Cautioning that movement of goods and essential supplies will be impacted if the government failed to announce immediate relief to the transporters, Sofi claimed that on ground the situation is deteriorating with every passing day and it is going to result in another major crisis.
