Social Pollution-unseen epidemic

The mad race in which we all have entered either knowingly or in ignorance is pushing us into a deep slumber of eroding “Values”-the values on which the “Ancient Civilizations” thrived for years and years. The civilizations now have been brought at a juncture when thousands of “Scholars” around the world are converging on one issue, rather very important issue of “De-generation and Deterioration” of the “Value System” of the society, which has ruptured and fractured the whole of the “Social Fabric”. We are constantly striving to improve the variety of “Hybrid Seeds”, trying to fortify them with the minerals and vitamins which we feel can make us bodily strong but bothering least about the food for “Pure Thought”, which can transform the lives of millions to come for peaceful co existence with peaceful minds; the peaceful world having no place for the evils like “ARMS RACE”; being chased by every nation so ardently. Concept of “Social Problems” now has moved a step forward, entering into the zone of “Social Pollution” very subtly. The “Social Pollution” which is more or less a phenomenon of “Mental and Behavioral” training, that ultimately has been considered as the root cause of all other pollutions; compels us to ponder over the relevance of it for the new generation who will inhabit the “Mother Earth”. In this complex world, where market being the only driving force, “Consumerism and Opportunism” is seriously ailing the sound health of the society, thereby polluting the “Social Environment”. Environment; Noise; Water; Plastic and many more pollutions are talk of the town, being discussed everywhere but being taken care of amongst a very few. Nobody ever trying to assess the real cause behind these. A lot of ideas are being shared and measures taken; policies being framed to be finally obeyed by “We Humans”. The “We Humans” being referred here is a deliberate attempt by me, because it is we who are the lone perpetrators of these manmade evils; some because of our changing “Needs” and more because of our “Behavior”.
“Behavior” is something that is associated probably with this new kind of pollution i.e. “Social Pollution”. Man being a “Social Animal” is the root cause of this new burgeoning pollution. The wide gap between the high aspirations and bare satisfaction is due to the exposure to a galore life through the different programmes on the “Idiot Box” mostly the Soap Operas; Un real Reality Shows; Masala News; Ornamental Portrayal of Characters in most of the movies; the effects created through Brain Hunting Ads” and the last but not the least is the projection of the philosophy that “Money is Everything” no matter what the means are, is pushing the coming generation to live in a “Virtual World”. Economic thinking has started polluting our minds to the fullest leaving no space for anything which can enrich our minds too. Addiction to the Gadgets; Exposure to Pornography; Changing Food Habbits; Cubical Life Style; Unlimited Working Hours; Disturbed Sleep Patterns are a few of the evils behind this unseen “Social Pollution”. Over exposure to “Electronic and Print Media” is fueling the fire for the social breakup and the degeneration of “Social and Moral” values. A truth well acknowledged today that a young professional in possession of a job must be up in “Want of Life”. Work leaving little time for our bodies, minds or families robbing us of “Health and Happiness”. The way we work may also be killing us. Chronic ailments like “Heart Disease”; Diabetes and Mental health conditions such as “Depression and Anxiety” are on the rise. World Health Organization reported a manifold increase in the incidence of diabetes. Deaths due to Heart Diseases have gone up for the last few years inspite of the best of the Health care by our side for 24x7x365. World being hyped as a “Global Village” has its darker side too. Interaction between people working in different “Time Zones” has its toll too. Mine may be sleeping time but the services I am rendering may be needed in some other part of the world where it’s their working time, definitely is going to disturb the sleep patterns resulting into ill health and finally disturbing the thought process thereof; the food for sound mind. Recently, a Japanese Wedding Organizing Company, Crazy INC. has started rewarding its employees who sleep at least 6 hours in the night for at least 5 days a week which will be tracked using an App is a glaring example of our working environments which have become too stressed. There is need for restoring “Old Social Values” which are facing crisis due to “Growing Western Culture” and consequent emphasis on “consumerism; materialism; selfishness and the indiscriminate display of the “Money Power”. Pollution which starts from the mind of an individual spreads at an uncontrollable speed, infecting other minds and finally taking the whole of the society in its grasp. “Social Pollution” is what it can be called and which is going to be “Social Epidemic” unseen as yet. We cannot clean the “Environment” unless our “Minds” are calmed and cleaned.
