JAMMU, Mar 31: Amid outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, various social and political organizations continued to distribute ration among the needy persons.
Former Minister Chander Parkash Ganga today distributed essential items among needy at Panchayat Kartholi with the help of volunteers from the NGO Khalsa Aid. Among others present were Atresh Dutta BJP Block President Bari Brahmana, Jai Ram Sharma, Sarpanch Tarsem Singh Charak, Panch Janak Raj and others
J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina handed over medical gear which consisted of medical safety gowns, gloves, gumshoes (footwear), facemasks and aprons to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Samba at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The whole lot of medical gears costing about Rs 1 lakh was donated by Dr Poonam Manyal, W/o Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, J&K BJP General Secretary. Former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, J&K BJP General Secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul and Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal were also present on the occasion.
Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) Vikram Randhawa distributed ration among around 200 poor families in Gandhi Nagar assembly segment.
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Samba on the instructions of Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, Chairman DLSA (Principal District and Sessions Judge) Samba and supervision of Swati Gupta, Secretary DLSA Samba arranged ration supplies and other necessary items for slum dwellers in Kartholi area in Bari-Brahamana after involving the local people and urging them to donate generously for the cause. Earlier in the day, fumigation and sanitization drive was arranged by DLSA, Samba involving the concerned authorities. The distribution drive was carried out by PLV’s Pankaj Kumar, Tufail Mohammad and Civil Society represented by Dilbagh Singh.
Bari Brahmana Police distributed food among people living in Kartholi area. The drive was led by SDPO Bari Brahmana Sunil Kesar and Proprietor of TVS Motors Parshotam Singh.
DySP Headquarters Jammu Shwetambiri Sharma, SHO Nowabad Police Station Inspector Deepak Jasrotia, Incharge Police Post Canal Road SI Rohit along with Area Sales manager SKB Food Products Private Limited distributed dry food items in the slum area of Mohinder Nagar.
In view of nationwide lockdown, Deputy Commissioner Samba Rohit Khajuria along with SSP Shakti Pathak distributed the essential commodities including ration packages among the families of migrants, hawkers, daily wagers and other affected families living in Samba town, Panchayat Sangwali, Nonath and Harsath in block Ghagwal.
Indian Red Cross Society Jammu Region under the supervision of its Secretary Vinod Malhotra has distributed ration items to nearly 400 to 500 families living at Beli Charana, Circular Road, Chand Nagar, Pahari Mohalla, Old Hospital Road and other nearby places in the Jammu city.
Social worker Tarun Chauhan and his associates distributed sanitizers among security persons on duty including JKP, CRPF, CISF etc. Around 100 sanitizers were handed over to SSP Udhampur and 75 to Safai Karamcharis.
Officers of 33 Battalion CRPF handed over masks and sanitizers to Block Medical Officer (BMO) Bhaderwah Dr Hamid Zargar for further distribution among the masses.
A Team of Set India (Ek Naye Subha) distributed essential commodities to 25 slum dwellers near JK Medicity Channi Himmat. Manpreet Kour, Founder Director of Set India, Rajesh Sharma Managing Trustee, Gourav Sharma and many others were present on the occasion.
Team of artists led by Actor Sanyam Pandoh distributed ration among poor people in Janipur, New Plot, Bus Stand, Roop Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, Reshmam Ghar, Pacca Talab and Dogra Hall areas.
Abhi Productions Welfare Trust distributed essential items among the needy and poor people in Miran Sahib and RS Pura areas. Chairman of the trust Abhishek Bhagotra, Board of Director Dinesh Kumar Raina and other members of trust namely Varun Verma, Shubham Sharma and Nikhil Sharma were also present on the occasion.
In the border area Bain Glarh of Samba district, BJP’s Mandal President Mohinder Singh Bikka distributed around 500 masks. PHC Ban Glarh also distributed around 200 masks among patients and hospital staff.
Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor distributed vegetables and flour to the needy in Ward Number 1.
Free relief ration was distributed among needy people in Ward 4 Bantalab Panchayat Keran. Relief ration was distributed in presence of Naib Sarpanch Keran Panchayat Chhankar Singh Chib and other ward members. Ravi Peshion, Ajay Peshion, Sahil Peshion, Sunil Kumar, Anil Bhat, Vinod Koul, Baldev Singh Chib and many others were present on the occasion.
SSP Samba visited villages Sangwali, Nonath, Surrara, Harsath of Ghagwal area and distributed ration among widows and needy people. He also sensitized them about safety measures against COVID-19. Police team of Police Post SIDCO distributed fruits, dry ration and cooked food among the labourers and daily wagers working in Industrial area SIDCO Phase-I Samba. Biscuits also distributed among the kids of labourers. Ration distributed in the slum areas of Kartholi, Dassal, Kabir Nagar, Kikkar Morh Birpur Road and Telli Basti among poor families by Police team of Bari Brahmana. Food packets distributed at Naka NHW Rakh Brotian and Vijaypur to the truck drivers transporting essential commodities by Police team of Police Station Vijaypur with the help of civil society members.
Extending a helping hand, a leading entrepreneur and social activist Subhash Sharma and his team today provided dry ration in Patoli Brahmana area to the needy people.
Under ‘We Care For You’ campaign launched by SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil, dry ration was distributed among poor and needy families of labourers by SP City South Vinay Sharma, SDPO East Bikram Kumar and cops from Police Station Bahu Fort. In this campaign, 2 businessmen of Gandhi Nagar namely Kewal Gupta and Shiv Kumar Sharma played an important role by donating 500 kgs sugar, 350 bags of wheat flour and 250 litres of oil to Police Station Bahu Fort for distributing among the poor and needy people.
Under ‘We Care For You’ campaign, SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma along with SHO Gharota distributed ration among the poor labourers. Sarpanches, BDC Chairman Bhalwal and many others were present on the occasion.
Under the guidance of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation Branch Domana distributed ration kits to more than 200 needy families of surrounding areas of Marh and Bhalwal blocks. SHO Police Station Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh and SHO Police Station Kanhachak Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar were also present on the occasion.
BDC Chairman Yogeshwer Singh Jamwal and SDM Vijaypur distributed wheat flour among needy people in Vijaypur, Smailpur, Tali Mode and Suchani areas.
RSS, Sewa Bharti Sankat Mochan Dal and other organizations of RSS distributed the relief material at Ghordi, Ramnagar, Nagrota Balmiki Basti, Chandi Mata Mandir Basti, Pangali, Seri, Panjgrain, Belichrana, Jourian, Barnoti besides Poonch, Rajouri, Samba, Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda district. Swayam Sevaks also provided sanitizers and soap to the people. All the 76 wards of the capital city have been covered by the various teams of Sawayam Sevaks, said Jammu Mahanagar Sanghchalak Surender Mohan Gupta. Meanwhile, Annapurna Sahayta Samiti Ramban and Sewa Bhiwag provided relief material to the people affected by the landslide at (Dalwas) Peerah.
SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and Incharge Police Post Chinore SI Deepak Bharti along with Councillor JMC Kapil Singh Chib of Ward Number 64 distributed ration among needy people in Chinore, Chowdhury Lane and Upper Roop Nagar areas.
Food packets were distributed among the poor people by Sikh Federation Nardi Wala in Akhnoor. On the occasion, the administration and Police Department also extended their support and made people aware about social distancing. SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma, SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pardeep Sharma, Tehsildar Amit, members of Dashmesh Khalsa Charitable Federation Akhnoor Ranbir Singh, Lakhvir Singh, Vikramjeet Singh, Zorawar Singh and Rangil Singh were also present on the occasion.
A camp was organized at Navodaya Vidyalaya Nud and RR Farms Pla Morh for free delivery of ration to the needy people by Jai Baba Shivo Shrine Committee Goran Samba. Tehsildar Samba Avatar Singh Jasrotia and President of the Committee Des Raj Sharma were also present on the occasion.
State President BJYM J&K Arun Dev Singh Jamwal and BJYM workers across the UT of J&K distributed food and essential commodities to the needy people. A donation camp for the BPL families was organized by BJYM J&K in Janipur Colony where the logistics were handled by Vikas Sharma of BJYM along with the locals. The food packets were distributed by State President BJYM J&K Arun Dev Singh Jamwal, Corporator Sunita Anand, Shrey Sethi, Ishant Mahajan and others. Similar camps were organized by BJYM in other places like Tikri, Jeevan Nagar (Jammu), Shiv Nagar (Jammu) and Ramnagar (Udhampur).
