Social, cultural organizations celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 16: The 74th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor by various organizations, workers’ associations, mohalla welfare committees and social and cultural bodies across the Union Territory.
The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu organized flag hoisting ceremony in the lawns of the court premises by under the presidentship of Abhinav Sharma along with Rohit Bhagat (vice president), Abhishek Wazir (general secretary), Pardeep Majotra (joint secretary) and Sushant Samnotra (treasurer). Office bearers of Young Lawyers Association, officers of CRPF and J&K Police posted in the court complex and Branch Manager J&K Bank, High Court Branch Sunil Kumar were also present.
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Poonch celebrated Independence Day in District Court Complex Poonch by hoisting National Flag by Madan Lal Chairman, DLSA Poonch (Principal District & Sessions Judge). Javed Rana Hakla (secretary DLSA Poonch), Bar president Mohd Zaman, secretary Bar Association Sajad Ahmed Chouhan, senior Advocates, CEO Municipality Poonch Garu, PLV’s and Judicial Officials were also present.
District Bar Association Kathua celebrated the occasion by hoisting the National Tricolor flag in a simple function in the District Court Complex, Kathua. The Tricolour was unfurled by president of District Bar Association, Advocate Ajat Shatru Sharma. A Guard of Honour was also given to the Tricolour by the team of CRPF Personnel present there.
Saluting the nation and its freedom fighters, the office bearers of J&K Bank Officers Association (JKBOA), Jammu unit celebrated the Independence Day by holding flag hoisting ceremony, besides chanting of National Anthem and patriotic slogans. President of the Association, Anil Kumar Sharma, speaking on the occasion, pledged to work for integrity of the Nation besides raising COVID-19 awareness among masses.
National Flag was also hoisted in the premises of Jammu Red Cross Home for Handicapped, Udheywala, Jammu by Satish Kumar Sharma (joint secretary of the Home) in the presence of other governing body members of the Home.
RMK Arts & Research Foundation celebrated Independence Day by presenting live online Music Concert “SOZ” with live Band Accoustics by most experienced singers and musicians at its Studio in Jammu for global viewership. The aim behind this online live music concert was to celebrate Independence Day and pay tributes to our forces who have sacrificed their lives for the country.
To celebrate the occasion, Arohi Productions under his banner launched Dogri patriotic song “15 August Manande Jaao”. The song is originally written by late Pradhuman Singh “Jindrahia”Ji. The song was released at TV India News Studio Sanjay Nagar Jammu by Miss Urja Singh (social activist, chairperson and founder of Betia Foundation.
Kranti Dal celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Pritam Sharma, J&K president of Kranti Dal unfurled the National Flag at Sharika Vihar, Lower Roop Nagar Jammu with great pomp and show.
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) celebrated the occasion with patriotic fervor at party office. The National Flag was unfurled by Manish Sahni, convener along with Rajiv Mahajan, spokesperson and alliance members.
Speaking on the occasion, Manish Sahni highlighted the sacrifice of freedom fighters.
Lavish Social & Education Trust celebrated the Day by organizing a function during which Tricolour was unfurled by Vinod Pandita (chairman of the Trust). Speaking on the occasion, Pandita paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for cause of motherland and attained freedom for all of us from British rule.
The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated the Day at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu. Chairman of the J&K Branch of ICAI, Lalit Kumar Gupta along vice chairman Vinay Jamwal and secretary Nakul Saraf hoisted the National Flag. Flag Run and virtual events such as “Show Your Talent”, Patriotic Song Singing, and Online Tambola Game were also organized.
At Amar Singh Club, Secretary of the Club, Vijay Saraf along with all the executive committee members unfurled the National Flag following the SoPs and social distancing norms. It was followed by National Anthem.
At Divisional Headquarter of J&K Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) located at Bikram Chowk (Jammu), the Tricolour was hoisted by Swaran Singh, General Manager (Operations) in the presence of Naresh Sawhney (Divisional Accounts Officer) and others.
Nationalist Youth Farmers Organization (NYFO) celebrated the Independence Day at Jammu with high spirit. The members of the organization along with their National youth president Rishi Kaul Kilam organized flag hoisting ceremony. On the occasion, Kilam asked the Government to come up with a concrete agriculture policy so that poor farmers can feel the freedom in real sense.
Manda Walker’s Welfare Association hoisted the Tricolour with social distancing at PHE reservoir ground Manda. All the office bearers along with members were present. A plantation drive with the active support of wildlife department and Manda green was organized on the occasion.
To mark the occasion, flag hoisting ceremony was organized in the premises of Vishwakarma Library & Research Centre (VLARC), wherein Ramesh Angotra (convener) unfurled the Tricolour.
Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, celebrated the Day by unfurling the Tricolour at Company Bagh, Jammu. Provincial president, Balbder Raj and INTUC president, Shiv Kumar Sharma jointly unfurled the National Flag. The Udhampur unit of the Association also hoisted Tricolour at PHE Station, Barrian, Udhampur.
Sulabh International Social Service Organisation J&K celebrated 74th Independence Day at its Trikuta Nagar office in Jammu. The Flag was hoisted by Anil Kumar Singh, Honorary Controller, Sulabh International Social Service Organisation J&K.
All J&K Scheduled Castes Welfare Association hoisted the National Flag at its office premises in Janki Vihar (Janipur, Jammu). Speaking on the occasion, Om Raj Bhagat, officiating president highlighted the importance of this Independence Day after abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.
The Independence Day was celebrated with fervor at Balgran. A K Khajuria (president of Balgran) hoisted the National Flag with children singing the National Anthem.
At Nanak Nagar (Jammu), Welfare Society of the area unfurled the National Flag. People sung National Anthem and distributed sweets among each other.
Nehru Yuva Kendra organized a series of events like Fit India Freedom Run and sports activities to celebrate the occasion. The activities were done by more than 100 participants at four different blocks under the supervision of Nissar Ahmed Butt, DYC Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu along with other NYVs.
Bharat Vikas Parishad “Tridev” Branch, Shastri Nagar, Jammu unfurled the National Flag in Housing Board Park, Shastri Nagar. On the occasion, Arun Kumar Sharma, National secretary (North) along with other office bearers paid tributes to our freedom fighters.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj celebrated Independence Day with enthusiasm and gaiety. Chairman of the organization, Col (Retd) R K Sharma, hoisted National Flag. Col Sharma narrated the importance of the day and stressed on working for brotherhood, patriotism, nationhood and national integration.
Tawi Welfare Society celebrated the occasion with gaiety. President of the Society, Kavi Raj unfurled the National Flag and in his address, recalled the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. He along with others paid floral tributes to freedom fighters as well as all martyrs.
Global Solace hoisted Tricolour at Jagti Camp, Jammu. Kiran Wattal, chairman of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj and patron of Global Solace, while unfurling the National Flag, remembered freedom fighters. The program was organized by Rising Athlete Jagti Sports Club.
Nations Development Association (NDA) and Panchayat Chorli celebrated Independence Day in the ambience of Panchayat. Flag was hoisted by Sarpanch Kailash Chander Naib along with Sarpanch Ranjeet Singh and Sushil Singh Charak (founder cum chairman NDA). A cultural programme was organized on the occasion.
J&K Freedom Fighter Memorial Association (JKFFMA) celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm. Ved Gandotra, chairman JKFFMA along with Rajiv Mahajan (vice chairman) hoisted the National Flag in presence of association members. The members paid tributes to the freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifice to preserve the territorial integrity of the country.
All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) organized an Independence Day function at Jagti Township. Neeha Pandita hoisted the Tricolor and took salute in the presence of AIMCCC chief Desh Ratten Pandita, vice president P N Jalali, senior leader Kamal Koul and others.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) organized an impressive function at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road (Jammu) to celebrate the occasion. Romesh Chander Gupta (president of the Sabha) hoisted the National Flag under the melodious tune of “Jan Gan Man “. On this occasion, the sacrifices of freedom fighters were recalled.
Bishnah unit of Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak (former Minister and president of the Sabha) hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Gambhir Dev Singh Charak (Incharge Youth Wing DSS), Madan Bhagat and other prominent persons of the town .
Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha, Jammu celebrated the Day by organizing flag hoisting ceremony in Sabha premises. The Flag was hoisted by Ved Prakash Sharma, president of the Sabha. It was followed by National Anthem.
Kaith Biradari celebrated the occasion at village Domana in Jammu with tremendous enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. Subedar Major (Retd) Gunni Ram Kaith hoisted the Tricolour amidst singing of National Anthem. Biradari members paid glowing tributes to the hundreds of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the country’s freedom.
Bawa Kailakh Dev Parbandhak Committee celebrated Independence Day by hoisting the Tricolour in Temple premises. While hoisting the Tricolour, Committee president Rampal Seth appealed the youth to do away with social evils like untouchability, dowry system and drugs.
All J&K Christians Forum celebrated the occasion with pomp and show at Amphalla Chowk, Jammu. The Tricolour was hoisted by Markes Gill, State president of the Forum, which was followed by National Anthem. Every body present on the occasion saluted the Tricolour.
The Tricolour was unfurled at Domana Akhara by SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal in the presence of local people and wrestlers. On the occasion, SHO among senior citizens of the area saluted the Tricolor.
At Bhagwati Nagar and Mandlik Nagar in Jammu, a group of Dogra youth unfurled the Tricolour and recalled the struggle for freedom. Speaking on the occasion, Bhanu Partap (a youth leader) asked all the youth to take pledge to maintain the unity and integrity of the country.
At Bishnah, the National Flag was hoisted by president of All JK Sadguru Kabir Sabha, F C Bhagat. Speaking on the occasion, Bhagat remembered all those fighters who laid their life for our freedom.
In Ward Number 58, Mohalla Association Digiana, Jammu organized flag hoisting ceremony. Paramjit Singh, ex-Corporator and Teerath Kour, Corporator of the Ward, unfurled the Tricolour along with Parshotam Dadhichi (Krether Vayastha Parmukh RSS).
A flag hosting ceremony was organized by the residents of Om Nagar Udheywalla to celebrate 74th Independence Day. Vikas Dewan (a social activist and SI Rohit Bhagat (Incharge police post Pounichak jointly unfurled the National Flag.
At Green Belt Park, Roop Nagar (Jammu), the flag was hoisted by president of Roop Nagar JDA Housing Colony Welfare Association in the presence of other office bearers and prominent members of the Colony.
Dream City Welfare Association, organized an Independence Day function at Prithvi Park, Dream City Colony, Muthi. The Tricolour was unfurled by Corporator of ward Number 65, Anita Sharma. It was followed by National Anthem.
At Mahatma Gandhi Chowk, Satwari, Jammu Cantt, Corporator Pawan Singh hoisted the National Flag. He recalled supreme sacrifices made by the great leaders and political activists in the freedom struggle of the nation.
The residents of Kailash Nagar (Ward Number 30, Talab Tillo, Jammu) celebrated independence Day with patriotic fervor. President of Welfare Committee of the Colony, Ankush Abrol unfurled the National Flag. He honoured the students of Kailash Nagar who excelled in exams of class 10th, 12th and other professional courses.
At Panchayat Halqa Mandal, Sarpanch Som Nath Dogra along with other Panchayat members hoisted flag hoisting ceremony. Bal Saint Shri Sahil Ji Maharaj, president of J&K UT Bhartiya Modi Army (BMA) Unit along with his core team and youth president BMA unfurled National Flag at Panchayat Ghar Mandal.
The Independence Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm in RS Pura area where Acharya Sanjeev Shastri hoisted National Flag at Keshav Nagar. Speaking on the occasion, Shastri said this day is a reminder of the sacrifices of our valiant freedom fighters who stood up against the colonisers and even suffered harsh consequences unflinchingly.
To mark the occasion, Durga Nagar Welfare Society organizing flag hoisting ceremony at Matador Stand Chowk in Durga Nagar. P L Raina, president of the Committee, unfurled the Tricolour, which was followed by singing of National Anthem by one and all.
