This has reference to J&K Bank Advertisement regarding constitution of J&K Bank Social Conscience Trust for promotion of art, culture, heritage and infrastructure, under CSR funding programme etc. This is a great idea of the largest bank of State. The bank has developed more than five parks in Srinagar and in its subsequent phases has prioritized DAL Conservation, Wullar Conservation and Airport beautification and also the purchase of Tree Trans Planter for Rs two crores. While appreciating the efforts of the bank I would like to request J&K bank authorities to extend the activities of CSR and Trust to different districts of Jammu Province. In the first phase, I will request for the repair and renovation of Laddan Fort in Kotli (Udhampur) as a measure to protect historic heritage of J&K State. It is pertinent to mention that this ancient Fort is visible from National Highway while going to Srinagar at a distance fo three kilometers from Udhampur. It is also requested to develop one Children’s Park at Patnitop and one each to Mantalai and Sudhmahadev to attract National and inter-national tourists. In addition, at least one lake from Jammu viz Mansar may be covered for conservation at par with Dal and Wullar Lakes. The lakes of Jammu region such as Mansar, Surinsar and Sanasar are at the verge of extinction. I hope the popular bank of J&K State will consider my request positively in the public interest for over all prosperity of society and its people.
