Snow in high reaches of HP; rain/snowfall on cards from Feb 3

SHIMLA: High reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced light snowfall in the last 24 hours  while it was hazy and mainly dry in rest of state, the Meteorological Department said here on Monday

The met Office also issued forecast of rain or snowfall on February  3 onwards in the state.

Keylong in Lahaul Spiti recorded two cm snowfall and Gondla 0.2 cm. Lady of Keylongs, Goshal hills and Seven sisters hills received light to moderate snowfall in the district.

Rain or snowfall is likely to occur at many places in the mid and high reaches and few places on February 4.

The rain or snowfall also forecast at few places in mid and high reaches on February 3 and isolated places in the next 24 hrs.

Minimum temperature saw a slight rise in the last 24 hrs as Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was minus 7.3 degrees compared to minus 12 degrees of yesterday. Kapa was minus 2.4 degrees Manali, Solan and Kufri  two degrees each, Sundernagar three degrees and Dalhouise in Chamba 3.5 degrees.

Una 3.6 degrees, Hamirpur 3.8 degrees Bhuntar in Kullu 3.9 degres , Kufir in Shimla,  Palampur, Bilaspur four degrees, Kangra 4.4 degrees, Dharmshala 4.6 degrees, Chamba 4.8 degrees, Shimla five degrees and Nahan nine degrees.   (AGENCIES)
