SMVDU to resume offline classes, 96 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Sept 3: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charandeep Singh today permitted resumption of offline classes by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra while 96 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir and six in Ladakh.
An official handout said DC Reasi Charandeep Singh had permitted offline classes to resume in SMVDU Katra and issued detailed guidelines to be adopted by the University authorities.
Out of 96 COVID positive cases, 70 were reported in Kashmir and 26 in Jammu.
In Jammu region, 33 persons recovered from the virus.
Highest 12 cases were reported from Doda, six from Jammu, three each in Rajouri and Poonch and one each in Kishtwar and Ramban districts while rest of the districts didn’t report any fresh cases today.
Jammu region now has 266 active positive cases.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported six COVID positive cases including five in Leh and one in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 68 active positive cases.
