KATRA, Dec 26: The Central Library of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, organised “National Level Essay Writing Contest” with an objective to harness energy, creativity, and inculcating quality writing skills.
The theme of this contest was: “Digital Economy: Opportunity and Challenges & Social Media: A Two Edge Knife”, in which 212 candidates participated from different States of the country.
The evaluation committee consisting Dr Madhu M Chaturvedi, Assistant Professor, School of Philosophy Culture, Dr Rashi Taggar, Assistant Professor, School of Business, Dr Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, Head, School of Language & Literature and Dr Supran Kumar Sharma, Associate Professor, School of Business and Faculty I/c, Central Library, SMVDU, evaluated the entries.
Priyam Kukreja from University of Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh won the first prize of Rs 10 thousand while Megha Hantal of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu and Lovish Baru from Kurukshetra University, Haryana won 2nd Prize of Rs 5,000 and 3rd Prizes of Rs 2,000, respectively.
Isha Joshi from University Business School, Panjab, Chandigarh, Anmol Rathore from Gujarat National Law University, Gujrat, N Indhu Vathana from Tamil Naidu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Naidu, Pritish Singh Nag from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Jammu and Sachin Prakash Srivastava from Dayal Bagh Educational Institute, Uttar Pradesh have bagged consolation prize of Rs 1,000 each with a Certificate of Appreciation.
Dr Sanjeev Jain, Vice chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, emphasized that such competitions encourage students.
