SMVDSB members, Chairperson Spl Tribunal, former Minister call on Governor

JAMMU, Jan 31: Maj. Genl. (Retd.) S.K. Sharma, member Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, met Governor N.N. Vohra, Chairman of the Shrine Board, at the Raj Bhavan yesterday.
Maj. Genl. Sharma, who is Chairman of the Governing Body of the College of Nursing; briefed Governor about various important issues relating to the functioning of the College of Nursing; the proposed Vision Plan of the College of Nursing; issues relating to provision of adequate hostel accommodation for the students to be admitted in 2018, space for Laboratories and other matters.
Governor appreciated Maj. Genl. Sharma’s interest and assured that all the issues discussed will be settled on his forthcoming visit to the Nursing College, a few days hence.
Dr. Ashok Bhan, member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board also met Governor and briefed him about several matters relating to the infrastructure and other logistical facilities which are being established for meeting the requirements of the progressively increasing Yatra. He also informed the Governor about the functioning of the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex and the present status of the project to install CCTV cameras on all the tracks to the shrine.
Meanwhile,  Sarita Chouhan, Chairperson J&K Special Tribunal, met Governor  and briefed him about the functioning of the Tribunal and the nature of the cases pending with the Government and the reasons thereof.
Governor stressed that the time bound disposal of all manner of complaints and grievances is vital for ensuring responsible governance.
G.H. Mir, former Minister, also called on Governor and discussed issues about the forthcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections and the factors which continue to thwart the attainment of peace and normalcy in the State.
Governor urged Mir to continue his sustained endeavours to enhance interests of youth and for improving people’s welfare.
Dr. M.I. Parray, Director, J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute also called on Governor and apprised him about steps being taken by the JKEDI to encourage and help the upcoming entrepreneurs and the challenges of entrepreneurship development in the State.
Governor stressed the high importance of all required steps being taken to facilitate the maximum number of youth being enabled to establish their own enterprises not only for self-employment but also for providing employment to others and for the economic development of the State. Complimenting EDI for the good work already done.
Governor urged Dr. Parray to further speed up the processes and aim at removing all delays in the potential entrepreneur receiving the various sanctions/ clearances as well as the required loan.
