Smuggling bids foiled, 45 bovine animals rescued

POONCH, Dec 5: Tightening noose around the bovine smugglers in district Poonch, the police rescued 45 cattle while foiling attempts of bovine smuggling in Surankote area of Poonch district during last night.
On the direction of SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra the teams headed by DySP Surankote, Sheezaan Bhatt, SHO Surankote and I/C PP Behramgalla established nakas at Behramgalla , Dogrian and Poshana areas on Mughal Road last night.
During checking the teams arrested three bovine smugglers namely- Ghulam Abass, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Taryath in Rajouri; Aabid Khan, son of Mushtaq Khan, resident of Harni in Mendhar and Nisar Ahmed, son of Ghulam Qadir Khan, resident of Rakh Bara in Tehsil Shangus, Anantnag and seized three trucks bearing Registration Numbers JK01AC- 0948, JK02BM- 5525 and JK12B- 3974 which were on way towards Kashmir. These vehicles were loaded with 45 bovine animals, with no valid documents from District Magistrate.
In this connection case FIRs 412, 413 & 414 of 2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station, Surankote and investigation taken up.
